Pros: The room was beautiful. The showers were amazing, with lots of space to put your clothes and toiletries and a hairdryer.

Pros: The host and staf are super friendly and helpful. The Guesthouse also offer welcome drinks every night, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. I stayed here on New Year’s Eve, and they had a small countdown get-together where you could pay 1,000 yen for soba and a premium sake with gold flakes. I was about to go to bed when I heard drumming outside—turned out a nearby shrine was having a ceremony. I went over at midnight and got to experience a traditional Japanese New Year celebration with people visiting the shrine, drinking warm rice alcohol, and watching ceremonial items being burned. Such a cool and unexpected experience! There is a very nice bakery nearby called Gouter Le Ble that you should try.

Pros: Every thing about this property is good. The property was well maintained. The staff working there are extremely helpful and friendly. Although the place a bit from from all the touristy places the station was at a very walkable distance so it was easy to navigate. If you are someone like me who likes quiet neighbourhood, I’d highly recommend this place. If i ever come to tokyo again, this will be my first choice.

Cons: The only thing i hope they allow is to hangout in the common kitchen post 12, while i understand it is for the comfort of others but other travellers too are available late in the night to hangout after their day sightseeings or work. Although this is a not a dealbreaker but i hope they consider it.

Pros: Quiet, easy to meet people, cozy and people were super mindful in the shared spaces.

Cons: The creaky floors- I didn’t want to make too much noise so I had to walk very slowly around the accommodation

Pros: I fully recommend Toco. Old Japanese joint house, extremely cute and calm in the city center. The staff is amazing and very helping. The lil garden is lovely. Magnifique!

Social vibes in a beautiful traditional guesthouse.

Pros: Beautiful traditional guesthouse with a really friendly, social atmosphere. Some of the bottom bunks in the dorms had a private space off to the side for baggage, which I thought was a great addition. Showers and bathrooms were excellent, and the location close to Iriya Station made getting around easy.
