Highly recommended beautiful property in a great neighborhood

Pros: We absolutely loved staying at this property and highly recommend it to anyone considering staying in or around Tokyo. The hosts are kind and helpful; the property itself is beautiful and spacious, and a very cool hybrid of attractive older construction and contemporary amenities that make it very comfortable for travelers. Our family of 5 had plenty of space and options for sleeping arrangements, and we were very comfortable. Our boys enjoyed dressing up in the provided ninja outfits, and I sat down to read some of the Japanese manga library when I had a minute. We loved the neighborhood. It’s quiet and peaceful, and English doesn’t seem to be spoken much in this area, which we considered to be a positive thing and a good opportunity to practice and expand our limited skills in Japanese. We tried to be invisible and to blend into the neighborhood as much as 5 Americans are able, and I feel like we were generally well received by everyone we met on the street and in the shops.

Cons: The door uses a keypad rather than a physical key, which we liked. I had some communication issues getting the key code, but I gather that some of that was related to booking.com’s messaging system and the fact that using a travel eSIM made it difficult to make contact in real time. Literally the only issue we had was with getting the key code at check-in time. I think this was probably a one-off issue that others aren’t likely to experience.
