Asta Hotel

Clean, basic but small.

Pros: Room was clean, friendly staff, close proximity to food options

Cons: Rooms were very small, hot water was a bit funny in our room (803)

Great value for money

Pros: Great location for transport. Some nice restaurants in the area. Friendly staff.

Cons: The pillows are very uncomfortable

Pros: Room size was generally alright for the price point, but what I really enjoyed is this little porch at the entrance of the hotel where I can just chill under the very... chill weather during Autumn. Most people highlight the near distance to Ikebukuro, but as I had purchased the Subway Ticket, the Kanamecho Station works for me very well (it's actually closer to the hotel than Ikebukuro)

Cons: This is no fault of the hotel's... but what I didn't really like was the lack of shelter from the nearest station. Was caught in a heavy rain once and had to sprint back to the hotel. But yes this is a me problem and shouldn't affect anyone's decision.

Pros: close to subway station and good walking distance from shopping district

Cons: rooms were so small, could barely open the suitcase on the floor but if you're a solo traveler this is definitely fine

Nice, cosy little room in Ikebukuro!

Pros: The location was great, not too far from the main Ikebukuro Station (about 15 minutes) and another station (5–10 minutes). I was very satisfied with the room; it was comfortable, and although the bed was a bit soft, it was perfect for me. The TV was great, we could watch YouTube as well as many Japanese channels. The room was clean, and there were vending machines downstairs. The hotel also had laundry facilities and a smoking room (I didn’t use these). Overall, it was a very nice stay. Check-in and check-out were really fast. When we have checked in, they gave us ramen as gifts (I recommend the curry one), that was a really nice touch and nice dinner! :)

Pros: Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Asta Hotel. The location was fantastic. Though a ~10-15 minute walk from the train platforms of Ikebukuro Station, we enjoyed the quiet and peace that came with this. There are two supermarkets within 100m of the hotel and multiple convenience stores and places to eat. The room is small but this is to be expected when travelling Japan. Facilities were clean and comfortable with a filter cold water dispenser in the lobby.

Pros: 5 minute walk to Ikebukuro station. Good matcha and coffee shop next door. The room was clean. Very good value for money.

Pros: Great location, for a reasenable price, and clean, staf freandli and ready to help out.

Cons: Tv is in the room.if you want to relax but has few chanels.
