Upper Hotel Ryogoku

Nice little place to spend a night or two not far from the heart of Tokyo

Pros: The room was comfortable and they had everything I needed

Pros: Close to a McDonald's. Spacious common area, toilet and bathroom.

Cons: The bed is a bit shaky if you're sleeping on the top bunk.

Pros: A lot of showers and toilets. Kitchen is well equiped Location is nice to visit east Tokyo.

Cons: No staff for welcoming, self check-in

Pros: Great facilities, self check-in is easy & clear. Free use of washing machine, and a balcony area to dry things. Girls dorm was incredibly comfortable. Plenty of washroom facilities

Cons: Not responsive to messages.

Pros: Walking distance to Ryogoku Station around 5mins (this is bonus point because I love accommodation near to public transport) They have washing machine(but need to buy your own detergent). You can cook and heat up your food. It just they don't have much space for your luggage especially when you want to packing back your stuff but I still can manage it and do packing when my roommate not around. Pillow a bit thin but still okay for me. It's really feel like a dormitory and most of the guest just mind their own business. Highly recommend for solo travellers ~ aahhh one more thing it's near to Sumida River you can walk and jogging there, the view is amazing! ❤️

Pros: The female dorm is small but very comfortable. Beds have curtains, power point & light Towels are provided.. I never had to wait for a shower or toilet, although the area around the sinks can occasionally get a little crowded. I didn't use it but there was free use of laundry machine (buy your own detergent); there's also a small balcony to air-dry things if you don't want to use a dryer. Check-in was easy (largely unstaffed - they send you an email with codes for the front door and your room). There's not much storage space for luggage but they're OK with leaving things there before or after check-out, which many other Tokyo hostels are not cool with. Location is great and it's very easy to sleep.

Cons: Slow to reply to messages which, since there's no physical staff around (or at least, nobody who obviously works there) can be a little frustrating... but they do answer eventually. The common area is designed for eating or working, not hanging out, so it's not a very sociable hostel - but it's not unfriendly.

A cheap, convenient option for anyone passing through Tokyo

Pros: A cheap, accessible hostel for anyone passing through Tokyo. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the nearest subway station to get on the train to Narita Airport. The beds are decent and there are plenty of showers and toilets.

Cons: There are no staff, with check-in and check-out being trust-based and automated. The bedrooms can get a bit warm and stuffy and the walls are fairly thin too. None of this deterred me from staying here a second time.

Pros: The beds were very comfy, airconditioning saved me and it was quiet.

Nice and good place with all eminities, but have to walk 1km from METRO, or need JR PASS to acess

Pros: The property is clean and tidy, with all basic necessities, washrooms are in the same floor, less waiting time

Cons: It is a bit far from the city, even though it is near to JR Station, but it is not well connected to the city, you have to walk a kilometer to reach the metro. materies is not so comfortable
