Good except the bedding

Pros: Location, host's communication and general facilities are all good. Have now stayed in both upstairs and downstairs.

Cons: Unfortunately the provided futons are thin and none of the beds are of good quality. Also, the ground floor futons are laid on tatami but it seems to be directly on concrete. We couldn't get a comfortable night's sleep. Only the upstairs tatami is good.

Outstanding location.

Pros: The location in regards to everything was outstanding. Easy train to shibuya and kabukicho, but the actual location was quiet and residential.

Pros: Great location great communication with the owners. Clean and very cosy space

Pros: Location!!! Koenji is an amazing neighborhood outside of the busy over-touristy areas. The hostel is located in a calm family-oriented area. It was always a pleasure to come back after a long day or evening/night and feel at home in a comfortable house.

Cons: I put this more as a recommendation and not a critique: I understand it is customary in hostels and hotels I looked at to have many beds in a bedroom. I still feel it would be interesting that one of the beds would be a sofa bed as I did miss sitting down on a couch at some point. But maybe it’s just my westerner habit :).

Excellent stay even with 6 people

Pros: Very clean with good toilet, 3 nice beds and the 3 futon beds were comfortable as the floor was soft which complements the beds perfectly. Had hairdryers, nice shower and sinks and other amenities such as kettle, rice cooker ect. Little bit out of the way however it was a very short walk to Koenji station which has the rapid line which can get you to Shinjuku, Shibuya and Central Tokyo within 30 minutes including walking times. Host was very kind and helpful, even with 6 people we were very happy with the property, check in was smooth as well.

Cons: Was a little bit cramped with 6 people, but understandable with it being in Tokyo.

Great apartment, steep cleaning fee

Pros: Great location. Just a few minutes walk to the train station. Very spacious apartment.

Cons: ¥8000 cleaning fee is obnoxious. Especially since you have to sort and throw out the trash outside yourself. For the total amount, you can get a fancy hotel with(!) Housekeeping and breakfast. No ammenties such as toothbrush were prepared.

Clean, functional but small second storey apt.

Pros: The host communicated well in advance about what was required and made the process of check in easy. The property was comfortable enough, clean, well appointed and well thought out. Good base for 3 individuals sharing a room and 1-2 in the tatami room who want to be close to Shinjuku.

Cons: Rooms appeared smaller than the pictures made them look, and the station a little further than it looked from the property, but that's probably my fault. If it's not clear, this is a second floor apartment with a tight kitchen, shower and toilet separating a tatami room from the 3 single beds bedroom.

Amazing stay at a lovely place in a great location

Pros: Great location, walk to Koenji station where it was easy to get trains all across Tokyo. Accommodation was lovely and facilities (microwave, fridge, coffee, tea, washing machine) were great.

Cons: Floor mattresses were a little bit thin

Pros: Great location, had everything we needed, clean and very clear communication.

Nice stay in a calm area

Pros: The rooms were clean and there were a lot of amenities provided!

Cons: Everything was perfect!
