Of all the hotels we stayed at, the owners/staff were by far the kindest and most helpful.
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff, size of room, cleanliness, proximity from train station
Cons: That we had to leave.

Pros: Perfect little hotel for a solo traveller on a budget! The room was bigger than most hotels in Tokyo of the same price, and has everything I needed. The man who I assume runs the hotel and checked me in + out is so lovely and happy to help!
Cons: A lot of noise leaks in which was fine for me, but might be a problem if you're a light sleeper.

Big room for cheap and close by station and osaka centre
Pros: Had a pretty big room for cheap. Helpful staff. Close by station and centre was walking distance.
Cons: It wasn’t bad but it smelled a little bit weird in the kitchen.

Lovely room with
Pros: I loved the wall paper and there were lots of lovely little touches that made the room so very comfortable and made me feel very welcome. Wonderful bath tub. And a friendly owner/manager who took my case up the stairs for me. Supermarket across the street had great take-away meals, sushi trays etc.

Perfect for young solo travelers. Good room for a very cheap price
Pros: Good room for very cheap price (better than what you would get at APA for example) Coin laundry & shoe cleaner right next to the hotel (two steps away).
Cons: Note that there isn’t any elevator and there isn’t a constantly open front/reception.

Pros: I had a great stay here! The location is perfect, less than 10 minutes from Ikebukuro Station but in a quiet area. The room was very clean, really spacious for Tokyo, and had all the useful amenities I needed. The owners are really nice and helpful, the owner even helped carry my luggage up and down the stairs. I was also able to leave my luggage both before check-in and after check-out, and early check-in was possible too. I’ll definitely stay here again when I’m back in Tokyo!

Pros: The hotel is well located in an area in Ikebukuro with a lot of restaurants and other hotels. It is very close to Ikebukuro station (less than 15min on foot) and also very close to the main areas in Ikebukuro (about 20min on foot). The staff was very friendly and you could communicate in English. The room was spacious and had everything you needed. A fridge, counter space, a desk, and pajamas were provided. The bathroom was not too small and came with towels, a floor mat, bottles of shower products (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel) and a hairdryer. It did include a modern toilet and a bathtub. Really nice for the price and at a good location in Tokyo.
Cons: The hotel doesn't have a lift but the staff helpfully offered to carry the luggage up instead. The room felt a bit dark because the walls were painted a light plum colour and because it only had a window which opened to a white wall maybe 30cm away, however, there were enough lights in the room that it wouldn't feel stuffy. The room doesn't come with a dresser and had only 3 coat hangers, so it was easier to live out of the suitcase. The door doesn't lock by itself so you have to remember to manually lock it once you come inside.
