Ueno Woo Hotel

Pros: Excellent value for money and good location. For a typically small room, this was by far the most practically arranged room, well equipped with a large fridge and kettle and efficient use of space.

Pros: Great location, close to the subway station - from there you can reach central Tokyo in about 20 min. Very friendly stuff, that explained to us how often the room would be cleaned. The room itself was small, but convenient, we were able to maximize the space it a way that worked for us.

Cons: This room was the smallest hotel room I have stayed in in my life, but it seems like this is the rule of the game in Tokyo, so can’t complain too much

Good for a short stay.

Pros: Only stayed one night but it was useful for a quick stopover before we left Tokyo. It was quiet at night and self check in was easy as we arrived late.

Cons: A little bit of a walk from the closest station. The bathroom was tiiiiiny.

Great value for the money

Pros: The location was fantastic, situated within the quiet district of Ueno, also within walkable distance to Asakusa and Akihabara. The hotel was nice to look at and also fulfilled all of our expectations. Generally Ueno Woo Hotel is a great place to stay in Tokyo.

Cons: The rooms ARE very small, keep in mind when booking it. Also, the wi-fi was often not sufficient for such simple tasks as messaging or using maps.

Pros: Clean, well located, amazing stuff. We could leave our luggage the next day.

Pros: The hotel is well located in a quiet neighbourhood just a few blocks from Ueno Station and Ameyoko markets. A number of combini and supermarkets within a few blocks, as well as a couple of parks and a Yamato Transport for luggage forwarding. Conveniently located near a few different train stations for connecting to other parts of Tokyo. The hotel is happy to hold your bags before check in time. Rubbish and recycling bins, as well as a microwave, water cooler and tea/coffee making facilities in the ground floor foyer. Lovely staff with enough English to make checking-in straight forward. We (family of 2 adults and 2 kids) stayed in the Quadruple room and it was big enough for all of us, with 2 full sized Queen beds. Beds were comfy. Air conditioning was great given how hot it was outside!

Great budget hotel in Ueno

Pros: Bed was comfortable, hotel location was great in Ueno. Many convienence stores nearby.

Cons: Room is much smaller than what the photos look like online, room stays humid during the day. We still managed to be able to leave our two medium sized suitcases open in the room, but still very tight.
