Good sized living space in the city.
Pros: Communication was efficient and reassuring throughout, which made everything straightforward. The apartment sits in a quiet residential spot away from heavy traffic, yet it’s an easy walk to Shinjuku or Shibuya. It feels local rather than touristy. Hot water was reliable, heating worked properly, and the washing machine was a real bonus. Everything functioned as it should.
Cons: There are visible signs of wear and tear, and the bed squeaks noticeably, as others have mentioned.

Cons: the pillows were uncomfortable. the bathroom didnt have a place to hang the towel

Great Location, Tight Living Space for 3 People
Pros: The location was only ten minutes away from restaurants, and twenty minutes from the subway station walking. The proximity was certainly a positive. There were lots of restaurants and izekayas nearby.
Cons: It was a little tight for three people and the dryer did not properly dry our clothes, which we had to pack damp. Additionally, although we confirmed for three (3) people, we were only provided two (2) towels. For the price and location, it was still worth it. Just small inconveniences.

Very good location and comfortable for two people to stay!
Pros: The place was small but cozy and totally comfortable for two people. The host’s instructions were super clear, and they always replied quickly to any questions I had. Check-in and check-out went smoothly with zero issues. And the best part? The location! Just a 15-minute walk to Shinjuku Station and only a 3-minute walk to the nearest bus stop. In a big city like Tokyo, that kind of convenience is gold. Plus, the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, with no street noise at all.
Cons: The only small downside was that the curtains were quite thin, so some light came in during the night — might be a problem for light sleepers. But honestly, for the price I paid, I’m really happy with the stay.

Pros: Super clean but very small. We only slept there so it was no problem for us. Would stay there again. Neighborhood was cute :-)
Cons: We had a little hustle with the shower, because we didn’t read the instructions of the host. So better read it ;-)

Budget-friendly
Pros: For a budget friendly accommodation these older-style apartments are in a decent location and have the basic essentials. For setting travellers expectations: note you will have to send your passport details ahead of check-in; the rooms are common size in Japan (may be studios) so you might not have much room to open multiple clam-shell suitcases at once; there is a shower door but yes it does open directly to the common area. Windows do not have flyscreens, but if you leave them closed and just use the aircon you can avoid the bugs/ mosquitoes.
