Restful and cosy stay in the heart of Tokyo

Pros: Comfortable, warm and beautiful rooms! Being vegetarian, I was nervous with the fish market being as close as it looked on maps - but rest assured, you have to go out of the street and into another, to purposely go to the market so there is nothing confronting near the hotel! The staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was awesome and delicious. Location was central to trains and restaurants but just far enough from the hustle and bustle to not be overly crowded. We loved every detail about this hotel, it was a gem on our trip and would return in a heartbeat!

Cons: Some light and outside noise streams in, in the mornings. I wore ear plugs and an eye mask and had a very restful sleep.

Pros: We loved our stay. The hotel's history is beautiful and the bed very, very comfortable. We really enjoyed our traditional breakfast on our first morning in Japan. Great restaurants nearby.

Pros: We spent 4 nights at this charming hotel and had an absolutely wonderful time. The hotel is housed in a beautiful, 100-year-old traditional Japanese house, and the rooms are thoughtfully decorated. What truly made our stay exceptional, however, was the incredible kindness and hospitality of the staff. They went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome and well cared for. The highlight of our stay was definitely the delicious breakfast – a perfect start to each day. Since we stayed over New Year, we even received small gifts for good fortune from the owner. Once again, thank you so much for everything! We highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking an authentic and memorable experience!

Great experience and introduction to Tokyo

Pros: Authentic setting. Right next to the market and doorstep to many hotspots. The staff were amazing throughout

Beautiful and traditional with very friendly staff, but small and quite noisy

Pros: Exceptional staff, so warm and helpful. The place is beautiful, traditional and cosy. Pretty close to the subway, easy to get a taxi too. Good equipment.

Cons: The room downstairs was smaller than I expected (I’ve probably seen the pictures from the rooms upstairs). Beware of the very steep stairs if you need to carry some luggage upstairs. Toilets are outside the room, more or less shared with the rest. Sadly, and this wasn’t mentioned, the place is super close to a very busy roads. Cars never stop going around in this busy place. Good for 1 night, but not 3 as we have done. This would be a 7 or 7,5, but I put 8 for the wonderfully friendly staff.
