APA Hotel Ueno Ekimae

OK for use in transit

Pros: Conveniently located within a 10min walk to JR Ueno station, Ueno Park and a Starliner station (Kensai line) linking to Narita airport. Note that the Starliner station is separate to but adjacent to the main JR station. Note also that the lines for both the Starliner ticketing machines and the ticket window can be long. I used the ticketing window and while the line looked extreme it took me 15-20 min to get served. The hotel uses a QR code system for security when leaving luggage for a couple of hours.

Cons: Like many hotels in Tokyo, room size the bare minimum. In this case the bathroom was smallish but not impossible but the space between the pedestal and the wall was negligible. I took the breakfast option which was OK but the selection of food types was limited, certainly not as good as some other places. The seating arrangement was tight but adequate.

Pros: it is near Ueno station with exit 3, it is easy to find Hotel quickly. there are many restaurant that you can eat what you like it

Great location, clean, cosy hotel for short stay

Pros: The hotel is very conveniently located for Ueno station, just a 5 minute walk from the Skyliner terminal from the airport, and 2 minutes to the Shinkansen and other lines. The check-in and check-out were very easy. The room was clean with everything needed. There was underbed storage for at least 3 or 4 large cases if needed. Even the VOD on the TV was free and quite extensive. Yes, the room was small, but that's par for the course at this price point in Tokyo. But very comfortable and cosy.

Cons: Nothing!

Clean and convenient

Pros: Convenient as is close to train station. Room is everything we needed for a short stopover

For flights out of Narita, stay at APA Keisei Ueno Ekimae instead.

Pros: Great location close to Ueno Park. Good home base to explore Ueno and Asakusa.

Cons: There are like 3-5 APA hotels in the area, and this one is not in the best location if you are flying out of Narita airport. The APA Ueno Keisei Ekimae hotel is in a better location if you need to go from the hotel to Narita.

Convenient stay for the start of my trip around Japan

Pros: As a returning guest, I still enjoyed the convenience of its proximity to Ueno station. I was able to easily transfer to the hotel from Haneda Airport and find my way to the hotel. The rooms were neat and tidy, and size was enough to pack/unpack my suitcase. A bonus for the hotel is the availability of the laundry.

We had a wonderful time staying at APA Hotel Ueno Ekimae and would recommend it to absolutely anyone.

Pros: We enjoyed the convenient location and facilities, as well as the helpful staff. They even helped us transfer our luggage to our next hotel.

Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like about our stay.

Happy time in Ueno

Pros: Public bathroom on 15th floor will relax you from your walking shopping hiking etc. bed & blanket are also comfortable. Lights in room are also great. In house movies are also good. Staffs are all friendly and helpful.

Cons: small room but good enough for me. Nothing to complain at all.

Well located for a short stay

Pros: Great location right near the station, rooms were clean and the onsen was lovely (great for getting rid of plane aches).

Cons: Nothing, was great for the price.

Pros: The location is great and the public bath is nice.

Cons: The rooms are very small.
