Sakura Hotel Nippori

My favourite place in Tokyo!

Pros: This is my favourite place in Tokyo. I've stayed here every time I come (and even when I briefly lived in Tokyo, I'd still stay here). Clean, quiet, comfortable, and a great location.

Cons: Sometimes large tour groups stay here and they get a little loud outside at night.

Pros: Extremely friendly and welcoming staff, who made the entire experience very lovely and safe. It was also nice having a Cafe on the bottom floor, providing convenient and cheap yummy food.

Cons: The breakfast included is just tea and toast, so don't expect much there.

Would come back here again!

Amazing hidden gem area of Tokyo!

Pros: The location is amazing! Very unique part of Tokyo that the tourists never see. Very old school local feel. The staff were amazing. Daisuke especially made our trip memorable. Very helpful and kind man. The breakfast was simple but good to start out day with. Will stay here again!

Cons: Pillows are a little thin. But I just asked for another one and problem solved.

Pros: I had a wonderful stay at hotel The staff were extremely polite, helpful, and welcoming, which made my experience very comfortable from check-in to check-out. The services were smooth and efficient, and I truly appreciated the attention to guest comfort. Overall, it was a great stay, and I would definitely recommend sakura hotel to anyone visiting the city. I would love to stay here again!

Pros: Very good location with an easy access to train/underground. It took only 25 minutes rides to the city centre.

Pros: We stayed in this hotel twice during our one month stay in Japan. The staff was incredible and we felt so welcomed. The location is absolutely amazing and the food in the cafeteria is amazing! We loved it and hopefully we can come back one day. Thank you Tomoe and your colleagues for making us feel at home ❤️❤️❤️

Great for a budget hotel and excellent location

Pros: This hotel is in the perfect location in Yanaka. It was nice and quiet at night. I enjoyed the view over the quiet street where I could see window shoppers and people going by on bikes. The hotel feels safe and friendly and has a large luggage storage area you can leave your luggage at prior to check in, or have your luggage forwarded to. The hotel was easy to find and there are signs on the main streets nearby that point to Sakura Cafe which is on the main floor of this hotel. I mostly appreciated the price which was lower than other accommodations in the area. It also has very easy access to Nippori and Sendagi stations. You can catch the skyliner to/from Narita and start/end your trip without dealing with any big stations (it stops at Nippori).

Cons: A shared bathroom situation is never ideal, no matter where you stay, but it helps keep costs down. Usually the bathrooms were clean but a few times I found many hairs on the ground from where people had brushed their hair. I didn't love how the showers weren't consistently hot; they would change to cool suddenly, then go back to hot. Like all showers I experienced in Japan, they were pretty small. The showers seemed clean enough. Also, as others have said, if you get a Japanese style room, the futons are thin. I was a solo traveller so I just doubled up the futon with the second one that was provided. That worked really well. The bed in the Western room was fine for a budget hotel.

Pros: We always stay at Sakura because it is convenient, the area is lovely, the staff are very helpful and friendly and the home grown herbals teas and cake are a win!

Great value for money and friendly vibe in a special, calm neighborhood!

Pros: Loved the neighborhood, reasonable price, hostel vibe, and 24 hour restaurant: which we didn’t use much but still.

Cons: More protein options for breakfast. Provide slippers so that common space floors remain clean, sanitary and not slippery.
