We enjoyed every second of it, the staff, location, all the curated details and the style of the property. And let’s not

Pros: The property is super cute and very well curated. Our room was lovely and all the details were amazing

Cons: The walls are maybe a bit thin, i guess it comes with old school ryokan. But that was literally the only thing we could think of. And it’s a small hotel with few room so it’s not a big deal

Pros: Delicious breakfast, cute rooms, great location for our family of six plus a toddler

Cons: Room was a little dark but wasn’t a problem!

Absolutely wonderful, highly recommend.

Pros: The room was gorgeous and the futons were very comfortable. The open-air bath was lovely and just what we needed after long days of walking around. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Great location and easy to walk to close by attractions in Asakusa.

Peaceful and very beautiful traditional Ryokan

Pros: It was a traditional Ryokan style. The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. A quiet and peaceful and very beautiful place. The dinner was great, and the dinner service perfect. A bit expensive for the value I would think but still worth having the experience of staying in this kind of traditional Ryokan. The rooms were small with futon mattresses but they were super comfortable and the rooms very special and nice. There was also an outside onsen which was lovely. Ulrika

Gorgeous room & service

Pros: Fantastic service and the most beautiful traditional accomodation. Loved the private bath.

Cons: Room was a little bright at night due to lack of blinds and the hallway light seeping through the door.

Pros: The staff were incredibly warm, welcoming and helpful there, and we got offered a free workshop as part of our stay which was one of the most fun things we did on the trip. The room wasn't massive, but there was enough space for two big suitcases. We had dinner on one of the nights and overall it was a lovely experience. Very traditional food (sushi, broth, etc), and it's in a small private room, where they bring the food to you, and cook some of it in front of you.

Cons: Although our room was for two people, it does strike me as a hotel you would stay in as a solo traveller. From what I understood, the idea was that you would spend time in the communal seating area talking and interacting with the staff and other travellers, and it's this area that has the only real chairs in. However, as I wasn't alone, having a couple of chairs in the room would've been nice as otherwise it's either sitting on the floor cushions or lying down in the bed. The room was quiet overall, but there was occasionally a weird gurgling noise that came from the A/C unit which would definitely keep you awake if you were already up.

Friendly staff, unique experience, cultural introduction, a nice stay with a touch.

Pros: The staff were friendly and accommodating. We were able to drop off our luggages before the rooms were ready, and were given tea and a wet towel after our arrival, as well as a little cultural introduction by staff. The rooms were clean, and the room designs were interesting. The futons were comfortable. The yukata for the rooms were also appreciated, as well as the toilet seats that can warm up! The open-air bath was also a nice feature, which can be reserved free for one time slot. The dinner and breakfast which can be included were also enjoyable experiences. Overall, we loved our stay with cyashitsu ryokan asakusa, and we’d consider coming back.

Cons: The front of the building didn’t have signage at the time of my travel, which would’ve made it easier to identify or locate for first-time travellers.
