A great place to visit Asakusa !

Pros: We've had a lovely time. The place is very welcoming and well maintained, the host was really delightful. She was thoughtful, friendly and really cared for her guests. The room by itself was comfortable and practicle. The location is really perfect to visit Asakusa and its surroundings by day and night. Including the Tokyo Skytree, the Asakusa Temple and Nakamise Shopping Street. Literally 2 steps away from the main shopping streets. There are also many shops closeby, including a really great Don Quijote, restaurants and some game centers. Definitely recommend. Would come back there for another trip to Japan !

Cons: A slight downside would be that the windows are not so well insulated. We would advise not to sleep with your head under the window.

Worth it

Pros: Absolutely lovely stay. The staffs, owner, room, the view and location was perfect. I could not believe the room I was hoping to get with the view of the Sky tree, was the one I got. Worth it and would book again if I come back to the city. I'm just gonna say, I've been to multiple hotels with the bathtub. This was the cleanest I've seen. Lol

Cons: Nothing at all.

My new go-to ryokan in Tokyo!

Pros: Location - perfectly located in Asakusa. Stayed here for 6 nights and I love that it is very near to shops, restaurants, train station and the temple. Room - perfect size for 1 person with 2 luggages! Room may be a bit tight for 2 persons with luggage each. Bed - no matter how tiring the day was, I always ended up having a good sleep! Futon on tatami mats plus very good pillows (I need to find where to buy those) is a gem! Bathroom - no bidet but that is fine. Towels were replaced daily. Staff - very cheerful. I also appreciate that they cleaned my room every day even if I left the room almost past the scheduled cleaning time. I was always happy to come home to a clean room after a long tiring day.

Cons: Nothing. This is now my go-to ryokan in Tokyo!

Pros: The ladies who run the Ryokan were very nice and helpul. As a single traveller, my rom was small but had everything I needed - from my own bathroom (incl. a yukata free to use), to a comfortable futon, TV, low table with 2 cushions to sit etc. The location is unbeatable as it's right on the temple grounds.

Loved walking up to Senso-ji every morning. Easy to find vegetarian food nearby. Close to underground station

Pros: Great location and very friendly staff always available.

Cons: We are old and a chair to sit on would be nice but it is a traditional Japanese room.

Helpful and kind staff. Small room with futon. Touristic area.

Pros: Very kind and helpful receptionist. On the day when we leave, she even told us which metro entrance to use to have the lift (since we had some big luggage’s) Traditional Japanese bedding set (futon) Touristic area (shopping streets, food market, metro, temples in working distance). Small shops and food markets are closed at 9pm on that area, so it’s quiet in the evening.

Cons: Sometimes there is a smell in the hall (outside the rooms, when you get out of the lift). But no problem in the room self. Maybe aeration issue. There is a side of the windows that is very close to the neighbours, so we kept our curtains closed all the time for more privacy.

Pros: Fantastic location, very helpful and kind staff. I really liked the traditional japanese style room. It was well-equipped. I even had a view of Tokyo Skytree from my window.

Pros: Really quiet considering how close it is from the market. Comfy futon and pillow, deep bath and beautiful tatami. Lovely staff 😊

Cons: Missing a bed lamp

Coming 'home' in Asakusa

Pros: I loved the location. So close to the sights of Asakusa which were quite busy during the day but then were peaceful at night. The room 'felt\

Cons: The weather was a bit warm the week I was there, so my room was quite warm being on the 4th floor. However there was an aircon I used sometimes. Also, there was only a main light in the room (and separate light in the bathroom) Perhaps a small lamp could be placed in the room so the main light does not need to be kept on when reading etc.
