Hotel Sunlite Shinjuku

Wonderful location, clean and comfortable rooms. Close to a lot of highlights in Tokyo.

Pros: The location of the hotel is close enough to the train station so if you are carrying luggage it only takes 5-10 mins to walk to. It is on a main road but it’s quiet. It is super close to so many amazing and fun places. The rooms are typical Japanese sizing (small) but really comfortable and clean. I would happily stay again.

Cons: The only negative, we paid extra for breakfast and would not do that again. It did not have much western style food. It was a lot of boiled fish, and seafood tasting noodles, and bread with mini prawns on it. Really fishy. I’m sure if you like more traditional Japanese food you would love it. But I personally tried the food but ended up eating toast and butter. So, it’s not a negative comment, but if you don’t like seafood then it would be best to get breakfast elsewhere.

Functionally adequate and very reasonably priced.

Pros: Location was perfect for what I needed with all my intended destinations within 10 minutes walk. Room was clean and staff were helpful.

Cons: Breakfast wasn't great for vegetarians (although that's true of most Tokyo hotels that aren't 5 star) and the laundry room wasn't great either (although there was a laundrette a few minutes walk away that was much better).

Nice hotel at great location for your Tokyo trip

Pros: Decent size rooms for Tokyo (choose the twin room). Good availability on amenities in the reception. First night we got a room which previously had been smoked in, but when we complained they kindly relocated us to a non smoking room. We had breakfast include which was good value for the money.

Cons: The carpet on the floor could benefit from a deep cleaning or changing to hardwood floors.

Ok hotel. Great location. Old interior but clean

Pros: Really great location. Waking distance to lot of nice restaurants and shops in Shinjuku. Very simple and small room. So it was a bit overpriced for what you got.

Cons: Carpets on the floor was very old

Pros: Loved the location! Staff were pleasant and helpful. The bakery downstairs right next to the hotel was a huge bonus.

Pros: Great location, compact rooms but big enough for a couple for a few days

Cons: Bed was springy

Pros: Room was very small and suitcase had to be stored under the bed but otherwise it was perfect for our stay in Tokyo. Good value for money, clean, excellent location in Shinjuku in a quieter area, well connected and I loved the free toiletries!

Great Location ! Will stay again

Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect with nice places to eat and drink within walking distance.

Cons: The beds were very hard and the pillows weren't comfortable.

Pros: The staff, location and a room that was perfectly clean was awesome value for money.

Cons: Our only issue was the slow Wifi.

Pros: The location is great – it's just off the main Shinjuku area, so it's not too busy but still super close to two metro stations, making it easy to get around. The room was clean, which I really appreciated.

Cons: The hotel size is typical for Tokyo, a bit small, so don't expect to have much room for luggage. Honestly, barely enough space for two big suitcases at once. But for the price, it's totally worth it.
