Traditional, cosy and friendly in a good safe location

Pros: Felt very traditional and cosy, we walked past it at first and thought, thad would be a nice place to stay, then realised it was the place! So we were delighted, it’s tucked away just off the Main Street close to the station and very convenient location, we were welcomed very nicely and instantly felt a nice grounding being there

Pros: We liked that it was a simple down to earth place. Michael and Eiko were kind and accommodating! We had the top floor room with its own toilet which felt very spacious for us :)

Pros: An amazing stay at Tama Ryokan The owner are really nice people, the ryokan is clean and really close to different subway lines in a lively neoghborhood but still really calm. You can not find a better place for this price in Tokyo We will definitely come back in Tama Ryokan !

Pros: The best a foreigner coud hope to find, very traditional but at the same time near the Takadanobaba station and Shinjuku.

Excellent on the whole. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful.

Pros: The Location was excellent! It was 2mins away from the Tokyo Metro and 6-8mins from the Takadanobaba station. There were plenty of affordable eatries and shopping options next to the Ryokan. On the whole we were left to ourselves with no interference from the others and had the freedom to come and go freely at any time of the day and night.

Cons: There was just on shower faciilty that was shared by quite a few guests and that too on the ground floor. So if it was busy then one would have to go up and down steep stairs to know whether it was free or not. Adding one more shower facility on the first floor would resolve this issue.

Authentic Ryokan in excellent location with very hospitable hosts

Pros: Lots of character. Felt like a taste of old Tokyo.

Cons: There was only one shower to share between all rooms. So it was often occupied

Very good experience

Pros: The couple who own this properly are so lovely and let us check into our room early and kept our bags until our flight in our last day. The location is also very close to a few metro lines
